Answerbag gives users a platform to ask questions and share their opinions. The application focuses on many different topics, however the questions are generally opinion focused. Users can be general or ask about specific people, events or other subjects. Multiple choice options can be provided and users can see the breakdown of how many people selected each. A forum area is also provided to give the Answerbag community more ways to interact. The forums include feedback and site news as well as general chit chat. A search bar is provided so users can find existing questions and answers using keywords. Answerbag also provides a long list of diverse categories, including arts, education, social sciences, finance, real estate, home and garden, legal, electronics, business, kids, transportation, games, entertainment, computers, hobbies, science, fashion, pets, environmentalism, travel, relationship advice, diet and fitness, science, recreation and many more.

Answerbag.com was created in 2003 to give internet users a way to find answers and see what the online community thinks about specific issues. The site has grown in popularity in the past years. Today users can access a version for U.S. users as well as one for those in the United Kingdom.

The service Answerbag provides is a very simple one, but it works well. Users can pose any question they can think of. While other websites focus more on informational responses, Answerbag focuses on opinions. Through Answer Bag, users can find out what other internet users think on almost any topic or issue.

The Answer Bag website has an eye-catching blue, black and white color scheme. Polls are highlighted with orange, blue and green bars that depict responses to each option. Questions are given their own page that the user can view to read the asker’s pick response as well as all other responses. Users can share questions through email, Facebook, Twitter and many other online services from the question page as well. The website contains advertisements, which really should be expected with a service like this. The ads are generally kept out of the way. A list of related ads is provided along the right hand side of question pages, but these are only links and really do not detract from the overall experience.

A new user has two account creation options. Visitors can click the blue Facebook logo button in the upper, right hand corner of the homepage to access Answer Bag with their Facebook credentials. Users can also click the white “Login / Register” link to the right of it. A pop up box appears with a link that reads “Create a new Answerbag account.” This takes the user to the registration form which asks for an email address, username, password and date of birth. Two boxes can be found at the bottom of the form as well. The first one is automatically checked to sign the user up for occasional emails. This must be unchecked to opt out. The second must be selected to confirm the user’s agreement with the Answer Bag privacy policy and terms and conditions.

Answerbag offers a simple service that is user driven. To encourage participation, anyone can create an account for free. More features would need to be added to justify a subscription fee or other charge to access Answer Bag.

Answer Bag offers internet users a way to ask questions and get answers from others. The site focuses more on opinions rather than information, providing an opportunity for anyone to find out what other people think about various issues and topics. For serious answers there are better sites to visit.
